OHL Roundup: Vandenberg nets hat trick as 67’s down Frontenacs

Thomas Vandenberg scored three goals as the Ottawa 67’s defeated the Kingston Frontenacs 6-2 in the Ontario Hockey League.

Nic Whitehead, Brock Chitaroni and Nathan Amidovski also scored for Ottawa. Goaltender Jaeden Nelson kicked out 17 of 19 shots.

Nolan Snyder and Ty Robar all scored once for Kingston. Frontenacs goaltender Gavin Betts saved 36 of 42 shots.

GUELPH, Ont. — Hunter McKenzie scored twice as the Guelph Storm defeated the Erie Otters.

Ethan Miedema, Noah Jenken and Carter Stevens all scored once for Guelph. Storm netminder Colin Ellsworth saved 25 of 27 shots.

Brett Hammond scored twice for Erie. Otters netminder Noah Erliden saved 27 of 31 shots.

SAULT STE. MARIE, Ont. — Dimian Zhilkin scored twice as the Saginaw Spirit downed the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds.

Egor Barabanov, Nikita Klepov and Levi Harper all scored once for Saginaw. Spirit netminder Stepan Shurygin stopped 26 of 29 shots.

Jordan Charron, Charlie Hilton and Jakub Winkelhofer all scored once for Sault Ste. Marie. Greyhounds netminder Noah Tegelaar kicked out 19 of 24 shots.

BRAMPTON, Ont. — Julian Demiglio scored a goal as the Brampton Steelheads downed the Niagara IceDogs.

Justin Bottineau, Matej Stankoven and MacGregor Richmond all scored once for Brampton. Steelheads goaltender Zach Bowen stopped 19 of 20 shots.

Alexander Hage scored once for Niagara. Icedogs goaltender Matthew Humphries saved 6 of 8 shots and Icedogs goaltender Vladislav Yermolenko saved 24 of 26 shots.

SUDBURY, Ont. — Ryder Cali’s second goal was the winner at 1:12 in overtime as the North Bay Battalion edged the Sudbury Wolves.

Ryder Carey and Arseny Pronin scored once for North Bay. Battalion goaltender Charlie Larocque kicked out 14 of 17 shots.

Hudson Chitaroni, Brayden Bennett and Chase Coughlan all scored once for Sudbury. Wolves netminder Owen Leonard stopped 28 of 32 shots.

KITCHENER, Ont. — Tanner Lam knocked in the game-winning goal at 0:41 in overtime as the Kitchener Rangers edged the Brantford Bulldogs.

Cameron Arquette and Tanner Lam all scored twice for Kitchener. Rangers goaltender Jason Schaubel saved 32 of 35 shots.

Lucas Moore, Joshua Avery and Aiden O’Donnell all scored once for Brantford. Bulldogs netminder Maksim Corovic kicked out 26 of 30 shots.

LONDON, Ont. — Jacob Therrien knocked in the game-winning goal at 4:32 in overtime period as the Attack edged the Knights.

Cole Zurawski and Nicholas Sykora all scored once for Owen Sound. Attack goaltender Trenten Bennett kicked out 45 of 47 shots.

Jaxon Cover and Cohen Bidgood all scored once for London. Knights goaltender Sebastian Gatto saved 25 of 28 shots.

SARNIA, Ont. — Cole Davis scored three goals as the Windsor Spitfires topped the Sarnia Sting.

Beksultan Makysh scored twice while Jean-Christoph Lemieux, Max Brocklehurst and Ethan Garden scored once for Windsor. Spitfires goaltender Michael Newlove saved 21 of 22 shots.
