Mercedes Mone to challenge for Malaysian indie title

Mercedes Mone is going for more international gold — this time attempting to win a Malaysian indie title.

House of Glory has announced that Mone will face Nor “Phoenix” Diana at the promotion’s Superclash event in Long Island, New York on Saturday, November 15. It’s a title match where Diana is defending the APAC Women’s Championship that she holds in Malaysia.

This is the first time Diana is putting her title on the line in the United States. Billed as the world’s first hijab-wearing wrestler, she was named to Forbes’ 30 Under 30 list for Asia in 2020.

In this match, Mone is attempting to claim her 13th championship belt. She’s been traveling the world on a mission to add gold to her collection, which includes the following:

  • AEW TBS Championship
  • AEW Owen Hart Cup Championship (ceremonial)
  • Interim ROH Womenâ€s TV Championship
  • CMLL Womenâ€s World Championship (Mexico)
  • RevPro Undisputed British Womenâ€s Championship (United Kingdom)
  • Queen of Southside Championship (inactive, unified with RevPro title)
  • EWA Womenâ€s Championship (Austria)
  • Bestya Wrestling Womenâ€s Championship (Italy)
  • Prime Time Wrestling Womenâ€s Championship (Poland)
  • Discovery Wrestling Womenâ€s Championship (Scotland)
  • Bodyslam Womenâ€s Championship (Denmark)
  • Winnipeg Pro Womenâ€s Championship (Canada)

Mone is also set to challenge Kris Statlander for the AEW Women’s World Championship at Full Gear on November 22.
