A recent photo of Chris Jericho indicated that he could be primed for a WWE comeback.
Since leaving the Stamford-based promotion in 2018, The Learning Tree has reinvented himself in New Japan Pro-Wrestling and All Elite Wrestling, where he currently wrestles. He has won a number of championships, including being the inaugural AEW World Champion. Jericho’s AEW contract is reportedly set to expire in December 2025, and a huge buzz has since surrounded his potential WWE return, with many pointing to the 2026 Royal Rumble as the venue. However, the 54-year-old legend made it clear that he won’t leave Jacksonville but didn’t rule out the idea of coming back to Stamford.
On X (fka Twitter), an account posted a photo of Chris Jericho posing with Chris Bey as the latter was a guest on the Talk Is Jericho podcast. It was noticeable there that The Learning Tree became slim and lean. It was also noticeable that he was looking much healthier and in overall great shape.

Since his last AEW appearance on the April 9th episode of Dynamite, Jericho has been busy travelling the world with his band, Fozzy, attending different events and conventions, appearing in interviews, and doing his Talk is Jericho podcast. The star seems to be gearing up for his WWE return with his trimmed-out look, and fans certainly think he’s exercising and keeping fit for the same.
While Royal Rumble 2026 is still a bit far away, the star will continue to look in great shape and hopefully return to AEW TV soon, even if he returns to WWE later.
Tony Khan, the AEW President and CEO, admitted during an interview that he has nothing but respect for one of his originals, Chris Jericho. Since the WWE return rumors exploded, many have pointed out that The Learning Tree would possibly go that way, but Khan revealed that he would’ve loved to have him back.
The 42-year-old head honcho of the Jacksonville-based promotion acknowledged Jericho’s contributions to the company right from the start and noted that he could go on as he’s still in great shape.
3 years ago today in Arthur Ashe, Chris Jericho won the ROH World title defeating Claudio Castagnoli.
Thus becoming an 8x World Champion aka the Ocho.

He closed the interview by inviting fans to watch his program and see what happens in the next couple of months.
