The Wellsboro Varsity Volleyball team improved to 2-0 after sweeping Sayre on Thursday in their second straight road game.
The Lady Hornets won set one, 25-17, won set two, 25-11, then held on for a 26-24 win for the sweep.
Sophomore Peyton Keane had 10 kills to lead Wellsboro while junior Blake Eckart had 10 points and 2 aces, junior Madison Cruttenden scored 9 points and had 4 aces, and junior Ellie Largey had 14 assists, 9 points and an ace. Keane added 4 digs, Eckart made 4 digs and had 3 kills, and Cruttenden added 6 digs.
Sophomore Kendall Sweet added 4 kills and senior Brooke Wheeler made 2 blocks.
Wellsboro swept the JV game, winning 25-12 and 25-23.
The Lady Hornets (2-0, 2-0 NTL Large School Division) are back in action on Tuesday, September 2 at home against South Williamsport.
