John Cena Reveals The One Thing He Asks For On His Birthday Every Year

WWE star John Cena recently disclosed the one thing he asks every year on his birthday.

Cena recently appeared in a feature for Bon Appétit to promote season 2 of Peacemaker on HBO Max. Cena shared three foods he canâ€t live without and shared some stories about why they are so important to him.

One of those items is banoffee pie, a sugary dessert made with bananas, a heavy Cool Whip-like cream, caramel nougat and a biscuit crust, with chocolate shavings on top. During the video, Cena revealed that banoffee pie is the one thing he asks for on his birthday every year. Cena said heâ€s eaten one on every birthday since he was 25 years old.

“This is my hell. This is torture,†Cena joked. “Itâ€s wonderful, itâ€s wonderful. Every birthday, I ask for one thing: a banoffee pie. I will eat an entire banoffee pie every birthday, and Iâ€ve been doing so since I was 25.â€

The WWE roster really loves banoffee pie too

Cena said this is “everything he looks for†in a dessert and also explained how itâ€s a coveted dessert on WWEâ€s UK tours.

“We would do these overseas tours in the United Kingdom and Europe. The last day was usually TV in London. And we all knew that at the end of day 20, this gem awaited us. The catering would make these big vats of banoffee pie,†Cena said. “It was like a Black Friday TV sale. People would get in and go in with their hands. It was like gold. You could use it as currency. I got an extra slice of banoffee. What do you give me for it? This is an incredible dessert.â€

Cenaâ€s claims about the value of banoffee pie in WWE were validated earlier this year by those on the UK tour. CM Punk and Naomi made it somewhat of a running gag on this yearâ€s UK tour, with both documenting each day theyâ€d get the dessert.
