Jazmyn Nyx Reveals Origin of WWE Ring Name

Jazmy Nyx joined WWE back in 2022 and quickly became one of the most promising stars in the developmental brand. Considering how unique her name was, Nyx has now revealed the origins of her WWE ring name.

While speaking on the Ariel Helwani Show, Jazmyn Nyx explained how she got her WWE ring name. She said that once talent starts improving and showing dedication, the company reaches out to discuss potential names, asking wrestlers to submit a list of their ideas. The final choice, however, depends on what WWE wants and how they see the performer.

“So basically, whenever youâ€re ready — because itâ€s not guaranteed youâ€ll be on TV — once they see that youâ€re improving and working hard, they reach out and ask what names youâ€d want. Theyâ€ll say, ‘Give us a list.†Some people give a list, and they donâ€t always pick from it. It depends on what they want and how they see you.â€

Jazmyn included her name among her top two choices, and WWE decided to go with it after asking if she liked it. She also shared that her inspiration came from the Bratz Dolls, which she loved growing up.

One of the dolls was named Yasmin, a name she liked, but she felt Jazmyn suited her better, especially since people often compare her to a Bratz Doll.

“I put Jazmyn on my list — I had another name I canâ€t remember — but Jazmyn was in my top two. They said, ‘Okay, we like Jazmyn, weâ€ll go with that. Do you like it?†And I said yeah. You know the Bratz Dolls? I always loved Bratz Dolls growing up, and there was one named Yasmin. I really liked that name, but I felt like Jazmyn fit me better than Yasmin. Everyone compares me to a Bratz Doll anyway, so it works.â€

This comes after we had previously reported that Jazmyn Nyx chose not to re-sign with the company after they offered her a new contract. Regardless, weâ€ll have to see whether she will make her way back to WWE one day or any other company for that matter, as anything is possible in the world of professional wrestling.

What do you think of Jazmyn Nyxâ€s inspiration for her WWE ring name? Do you think her Bratz Doll connection fits her on-screen persona? Share your thoughts and feedback in the comments below!
