Jack Hunter-Spivey to give voice to para sport on ETTU Athletes’ Commission

November 24, 2025 | Paul Stimpson

Paralympic medallist Jack Hunter-Spivey has joined Tin-Tin Ho in being elected to the ETTU Athletes†Commission.

The Liverpudlian (pictured above) was elected as the para-athlete representative during the ongoing European Para Championships in Helsingborg.

It extends Great Britainâ€s influence in the international community with several representatives on the ITTF Council and committees having been ratified earlier this month.

In a closely contested election, Hunter-Spivey received 44 votes, just one more than his Great Britain colleague, Martin Perry of Scotland.

Hunter-Spivey, who also won gold at the 2022 Commonwealth Games and silver at the European Para Championships in 2023, said: “As a full-time wheelchair user, disability inclusion is not just a passion, itâ€s a lived experience.

“I regularly deliver talks and keynote speeches to some of the worldâ€s leading companies, advocating for greater inclusivity and accessibility, and sharing insights on how we can collectively build a more inclusive world for Disabled People.

“Last year, I was also voted in as an athlete representative for British Para Table Tennis. Within this role, I have been a voice for the athletes within the BPTT squads.â€

Acting as a direct link between players and the ETTU leadership, the Athletes†Commission ensures that athletes†voices, concerns, and perspectives are incorporated into key decisions shaping European table tennis.

It plays a vital role in strengthening athlete representation and providing guidance on matters affecting competition, welfare, development pathways, and the overall future direction of the sport.

The Commission now consists of five elected members, who will serve from 2025-2029. As well as Hunter-Spivey and Ho, the members are: Linda Bergstrom (Sweden), Elizabeta Samara (Romania) and Frane Kojic (Croatia).
