The menâ€s Indian Cricket Team addressed the Indian Womenâ€s Cricket Team ahead of the latterâ€s final of the ICC Womens World Cup 2025, wishing them well ahead of the big game and congratulating them on their journey so far.
The Indian womenâ€s team will take on South Africa in the World Cup final on Sunday, November 2. The ultimate game of this competition will be played in the DY Patil Cricket Stadium in Navi Mumbai.
The two teams have had very different paths to the final. First up, the South African women. This team won five out of their seven matches in this World Cup, only losing to Australia and England. And so, they finished third. Then, in semi-final 1, they thrashed the three Lionesses, beating them by 125 runs to make it to their first-ever ODI World Cup final.
Conversely, the Indian women did not fare well in this competition. They defeated Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and New Zealand; lost to Australia, England, and South Africa; and the game against Bangladesh was washed out. Then, in one of the most thrilling World Cup knockout games of all time, the Women in Blue defeated the mighty Australia in the semis after a world record run chase.
And now, the Indian Womenâ€s Cricket Team are on the cusp of their first World Cup win. With that, many wishes and congratulations are coming in from all over the country. Womenâ€s cricket is the most popular it has ever been in the country. While the WPL has played some role in that, the sheer talent and performances of the Indian players are the biggest reason.
One source of these incoming well-wishes is the menâ€s counterpart of the womenâ€s national team. Several Indian Cricket Team stars spoke about the womenâ€s teamâ€s amazing win against India and their qualification into the final and wished them well ahead of the final.
In a video posted by Star Sports on social media, several ICT players took part in the greeting, namely Rishabh Pant, Rajat Patidar, Sai Sudharsan, and Devdutt Padikkal.
“All the best to the Indian Womenâ€s Cricket Team… I know you guys have gone through lots of ups and downs during the whole World Cup. But you guys have been coming out with flying colours. Letâ€s get the World Cup home, and the whole of India is watching you, cheering for you. Letâ€s do it for the country,†said Rishabh Pant in his couple of snippets in the video.
“Come on, India! Letâ€s do this. Itâ€s a chance to create history, and letâ€s win the World Cup at home.†The phrase was said by Rajat Patidar in the clip.
“You guys have been very inspiring and a great treat to watch every single time you go out there,†wished Devdutt Padikkal.
And finally, Sai Sudharsan had this to say:
“All the best, Team India; make India proud and create history.â€

All the players in this video are not part of the menâ€s Indian cricket teamâ€s ongoing tour to Australia. The 2nd of five T20Is was the most recently played match, in which India was handily defeated by four wickets and a lot of overs to spare.
As for the Indian Womenâ€s Cricket Team, as stated before, this is their chance to win the ODI World Cup for the first time. But the South African Womenâ€s Cricket Team is in the same position. It remains to be seen who becomes the fourth different womenâ€s ODI world champion, as only Australia, England, and New Zealand have won this trophy.
