India Lifts their 9th Asia Cup Trophy

On September 28, the India vs Pakistan Asia Cup Final match took place at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. This was the third match between these two teams in the tournament, with Team India having won the previous two matches. Team India won the toss and decided to bowl first. In the initial overs, the Pakistani openers were in full control, scoring an 80+ run partnership, with Sahibzada Farhan scoring 57 runs in just 38 balls. After that, in the last 10 overs, the Indian bowling attack completely destroyed the Pakistani middle order, and they lost 9 wickets. The Indian team completely bowled out the Pakistani team in just 19.1 overs, and they were only able to score 146 runs. 

While chasing, Team India also lost the early wickets, as Faheem Ashraf took the wickets of both Shubam Gill and Abhishek Sharma, and Shaheen Shah Afridi took the wicket of the Indian Captain Suryakumar Yadav. However, after losing three wickets, Tilak and Sanju Samson scored a steady partnership. Shivam Dube also played a very good knock, 33 runs in just 22 balls. Despite missing out on the entire tournament, the winning shot came from Rinku Singh, who delivered a four in the last over, and with that, Team India defeated Team Pakistan by 5 wickets, winning their 9th Asia Cup trophy. 

The Player of the Match award was awarded to Tilak Verma for his brilliant performance in the finals. Tilak scored 69 runs in just 53 balls. The Player of the tournament award was given to Abhishek for his brilliant performance throughout the tournament. He was also the highest run scorer in the 2025 Asia Cup; he scored 314 runs for Team India in this entire tournament.
