Hulk Hogan’s widow is considering a lawsuit because a recent neck surgery could have led to his untimely death. Daily Mail UK recently spoke with Hogan’s wife, Sky Daily, who said that Hogan’s phrenic nerve, which controls the ability to breathe, was ‘compromised’ during a May operation on his neck, which left him short of breath in the months before his death last month.
“We are investigating for possible malpractice. If you have shortness of breath for a long time, that makes you very sick,” she told the Daily Mail. “It’s not something that’s an alarming (sudden) cause of death. It’s something that wears on you, makes you weak.”
Daily was asked if she believes that could have contributed to his death. She said it ‘definitely’ could have played a factor. This is something that TMZ also reported could be a possibility.
During the interview, Daily also said that Hogan’s body is still at a Clearwater funeral home and will be cremated after the medical investigation wraps up.
“It’s very time-consuming to call, sending in records requests, get approvals, send in the death certificate to get information. We’re currently in the investigatory process for possible malpractice,” Daily said.
When Hogan stopped breathing at home, an occupational therapist reportedly told police that Hogan’s phrenic nerve had been severed, but Daily clarified that it wasn’t sliced, but damaged. Daily said that the nerve issue wasn’t new, and that “everything about his neck surgery has been documented from when he was alive.”
She also dismissed claims that his personal doctor might have over-prescribed medicine, leading to the wrestling legend’s death. Daily said that the doctor never prescribed Hogan any medicine while they were together. She added that slandering doctors like that was irresponsible.
Hogan’s official cause of death was listed as a heart attack. His daughter, Brooke, recently shared that she went to visit her father’s body at the funeral home.
