Goldberg was apparently quite close to WWE legend Hulk Hogan and was one of the last few people the late icon had talked to.
Da Man and the Hulkster were major factors in the success of both World Championship Wrestling and WWE, and had even gone toe to toe several times. One of Goldberg’s WCW title wins came from taking down Hogan in the late 1990s.
In a recent interview on Real Talk with Mike Burke, the WWE legend talked about the influence Hogan had on his life. He said:
I was pretty close with him man. I mean I can’t say we hung out all the time. But I mean, he was a huge influence in my life. He taught me stuff, you know, he taught me stuff he never had to teach me. He took time with me in situations that he never had to do. And I realize that people do it for certain reasons sometimes. But he was a good dude. And he always treated me with respect. And we all have our days.
[When asked about the last time they talked]
It was, about a week before. Yeah.”

Speaking with TMZ, McMahon had revealed that he envisioned Hogan as exactly what America wanted.
