Former WWE Superstar Says They Are Making More On The Indies Than They Did In NXT

This former WWE Superstar believes sheâ€s more comfortable financially working the independent circuit compared to her time in NXT.

Gigi Dolin returned to wrestling under her real name, Priscilla Kelly, after her WWE release earlier this year. She has since appeared for numerous independent promotions and is set to face Shotzi at MLW on November 20.

Former WWE Superstar Priscilla Kelly recently spoke with Denise Salcedo. During the interview, Kelly debunked the misconception fans have about WWE NXT talent and their financial stability. She also reminded fans that paying for food, travel, and lodging takes a significant toll on a wrestlerâ€s budget.

“The common misconception, especially about NXT performers, is that weâ€re millionaires. Thatâ€s not the case,†she said.

“In NXT, thereâ€s contracts as low as $30,000 a year and they do not go as high as you think. You have to live in Florida, which is very expensive. Going out to eat just for two people can run you a hundred plus bucks. Because everything is marked up for tourism, and Floridaâ€s just a hotbed for people. “But, with all of that being said, I actually think with the amount I work — because Iâ€ve always been a hustler during the independents, Iâ€ve always been a person that works my ass off and hustles and tries to capitalize wherever I can. With all my work, all of the bookings Iâ€ve been taking, I arguably think that I actually make more than I made in NXT now.†[H/T: Fightful]

Elsewhere in the same interview, the former Toxic Attraction star revealed she was bullied in WWE to the point that she became suicidal. Fans can check out her full comments here.
