Ed Pollock: Worcestershire batter to leave Pears after four years

Worcestershire batter Ed Pollock is to leave the club at the end of a four-year spell at New Road.

Pollock, 30, who began his career at Worcestershire as a junior, made 86 appearances for the team across all formats, scoring almost 2,000 runs.

That includes centuries in both red-ball and white-ball matches, with his best score, of 180 from 138 balls, coming in last season’s One-Day Cup against Middlesex.

Pollock told the club website:, external “I’m extremely grateful for the opportunity to have represented Worcestershire CCC for the last four seasons.

“It’s allowed me to fulfil a boyhood dream, having represented the county as a junior from the age of 10.

“It’s been a great changing room to be a part of and a special place to come to work every day.”

The Pears have not disclosed Pollock’s next destination.

“Ed can be very proud of his time here at Worcestershire, where he made some very important contributions for the team on many different occasions,” said head coach Alan Richardson.

“He is a hard-working professional who has always worn the shirt with pride.”

Worcestershire are bottom of County Championship Division One, 35 points adrift of safety with three games to go, but have reached the final of this season’s One-Day Cup, where they will face Hampshire on 20 September.
