This time around at Paris 2024, 5 events will be played: The menâ€s team and menâ€s singles events, the womenâ€s team and womenâ€s singles events, and the mixed doubles event.

The table tennis event at the 2024 Paris Olympics will be held from July 27th to August 10th. Some of the events will overlap, but each of the finals will be held on different days.
The womenâ€s singles, menâ€s singles, and mixed doubles events will run simultaneously. These 3 events start on July 27th, with the mixed doubles event being the shortest in duration.
This event lasts for just 4 days because the format is a single elimination bracket with 16 doubles pairings. Hence, the R16 is played the first day, the quarter-finals are played the following day, and the same is true for the semi-final and the final.
What this means is that the first Olympic final will be played on Tuesday 30th.
As we said before, the menâ€s and womenâ€s singles events are played simultaneously with the mixed doubles event, but they are much longer in duration.
The preliminary rounds of both of these events run from Saturday 27th until Wednesday 31st. Then, the quarter-finals will be played on Thursday 1st (August), and Friday 2nd.
The only difference is that the womenâ€s singles final will be played first, on Saturday 3rd, and the menâ€s singles final will be played the day after, on Sunday 4th.
The menâ€s team and womenâ€s team events start the day after, on Monday 5th. On Monday 5th and Tuesday 6th, the preliminary rounds of both events will be played.
Then, the quarter-finals will be played on Wednesday 7th, and the semi-finals on Thursday 8th.
This time around, the menâ€s eventâ€s final will be held first, on Friday 9th, and the womenâ€s team will follow on Saturday 10th.
The mixed doubles event is, together with both of the singles events, one of the three events that start the first day of the competition (Saturday 27th).
The thing about the mixed doubles event is that itâ€s a very straightforward one – there are no preliminary rounds.
16 pairs of athletes qualify based on certain criteria, and then, they clash against each other in a single elimination bracket.
As this takes just 4 days, the mixed doubles event ends up being a very brief and exciting one.
While the preliminary rounds of the singles events are being played, you can also watch the knockout stages of the mixed doubles event.
2 days after the mixed doubles event ends, the final stages of the singles events begin, so thereâ€s only 1 day in which there arenâ€t any knockout matches.
The mixed doubles eventâ€s round of 16 begins on Saturday the 27th. The quarter-finals are played the day after, and the semi-finals are played the day after that. The final is played on the 4th day of the competition, on Tuesday 30th.
The menâ€s singles event starts the same day as the mixed doubles event and the womenâ€s singles event.
Both of the singles events share the same schedule except for the final:
Preliminary rounds are played from Saturday 27th until Wednesday 31st (the day after the mixed doubles eventâ€s final).
The quarter-finals are played on Thursday 1st and Friday 2nd. The only difference between the menâ€s singles eventâ€s schedule and the womenâ€s singles one is that the womenâ€s singles final is played first, on Saturday 3rd, and the menâ€s singles final is played the day after, on Sunday 4th.
The womenâ€s singles event starts the same day as the mixed doubles event and the menâ€s singles event.
Both of the singles events share the same schedule except for the final:
Preliminary rounds are played from Saturday 27th until Wednesday 31st (the day after the mixed doubles eventâ€s final).
The quarter-finals are played on Thursday 1st and Friday 2nd. The womenâ€s singles eventâ€s final is played first, on Saturday the 3rd, and the day after, the menâ€s singles event is played, on Sunday the 4th.
Both team events share a similar structure as the singles events in the sense that both run simultaneously and their schedule only differs on the date of the final.
The preliminary rounds of both events are played starting on Monday the 5th (the day after the womenâ€s singles final) and they end the following day, on Tuesday the 6th.
The quarter-finals of both events are played on Wednesday 7th, and the semi-finals are played on Thursday 8th.
This time around, the menâ€s eventâ€s final is played first, with the menâ€s team Olympic final taking place on Friday 9th, a day before the womenâ€s teamâ€s event final.
