LOS ANGELES — Cal State LA’s Seriah Demski has been named the FloCollege/Califiornia Collegiate Athletic Association Setter of the Week for the week of Nov. 3-9, the conference announced on Tuesday.
Demski led the conference last weekend with 13.67 assists per set. The Golden Eagles earned two wins with Demski as the distributor, improving to 17-6 on the season and 13-3 in the CCAA.Â
On Friday, Demski set a season-high with 39 assists in a three-set win over Cal Poly Humboldt. She surpassed that with a new season-high of 43 assists in a three-set win at Cal State Dominguez Hills on Saturday. Her efforts helped the Golden Eagles hit .343 versus the ‘Jacks and .325 against the Toros. She just missed recording double-doubles as she posted matches with eight and nine digs, respectively.Â
Cal State LA now stands second in the CCAA in kills per set (12.95) and third in hitting percentage (.234).
This is the first career CCAA Setter of the Week award for Demski, and the second for Cal State LA in 2025. Senior Arielle Chandler won the award for the week of Sept. 22-28. Samarah DaCoud was named the Offensive Player of the Week for the week of Sept. 29 – Oct. 5 and also earned national American Volleyball Coaches Association National Player of the Week honors.
Cal State LA is tied with Cal State San Bernardino for second place in the conference and the teams are battled for the No. 2 seed in the CCAA Tournament. The Golden Eagles will open the week against Stanislaus State on Senior Day on Friday at 5 p.m. before facing Cal State San Bernardino in San Bernardino on Saturday at 5 p.m. Both matches will be available on FloCollege.Â
