Dana White Reveals UFC White House Renderings in Photos, Event to Have Under 5K Seats

Dana White has released renderings of the upcoming UFC event set to take place at the White House next year.

The event will seat fewer than 5,000 people, White said in a Friday appearance on Fox News (h/t MMA Junkie).

The setup will ultimately depend on how much weight the White House lawn can hold in addition to the 15,000-pound octagon, White said Friday.

White previously said the event will take place around July 4 as part of the United States’ 250th anniversary celebration.

He said last week in an appearance on The Herd with Colin Cowherd he expected security to be “a massive issue” for the event.

The UFC president has also previously confirmed he wants fighters to walk out into the event from the White House itself.

The event itself will then take place with the building in the background, White said Friday.

“My vision for this thing is we have this big arch, as you can see, with the lightning grid, because what I want is the White House in the back,” White said about the renderings. “And then, when the fight goes around to the other side, you’ll see the Washington Monument.”

An additional 85,000 fans can be situated on the Ellipse, the south lawn of the White House, according to White.

The area will feature a stage with live music and screens broadcasting the fight, White said.

Former UFC featherweight and lightweight champion Conor McGregor said Friday he would “definitely” participate in the event.

Former light heavyweight and heavyweight champion Jon Jones has also expressed interest in fighting.

This will mark the third time the UFC has hosted an event in Washington D.C. Both prior events took place at Capital One Arena, including a 2011 bantamweight bout Dominick Cruz and Demetrious Johnson and a 2019 fight between Jairzinho Rozenstruik and Alistair Overeem on UFC on ESPN.
