With 35 years in the business, it isn’t surprising to see Chris Jericho make all the right moves regarding what fans perceive to be his next move in wrestling.
Chris Jericho has been patiently chilling on the sidelines since his last match at AEW Dynasty in April, when he dropped the ROH World Title to Bandido. A lot has been said ever since, with Tony Khan even hoping Jericho returns to AEW, but that hasn’t happened yet.
Rumors indicate that his current contract will expire at the end of 2026, making him a sought-after free agent and reportedly on course for a comeback to WWE. Based on his latest social media hints, we can’t argue against the reports.
Chris Jericho Is At It Again With His WWE Return Teasers
With John Cena’s retirement tour at its final stage, it makes sense for talents with a connection to the WWE Legend to make the most out of the hype.
Gunther has warned he would make Cena tap out in his final match, and interestingly enough, Chris Jericho is among the few stars who have submitted the 17-Time World Champion.
Y2J also made sure he reshared a post highlighting the same on his Instagram stories, as you can view below:

It doesn’t stop there! The former AEW World Champion’s TikTok also makes for quite an interesting watch as he recently shared his iconic ‘Break The Walls Down’ theme song, which is just one of the many throwback WWE moments that have been on his feed of late.
Chris Jericho and his team are clearly feeding into the speculation of his WWE return, and there are multiple possibilities. One of them is WWE potentially delaying the masked attacker storyline and unveiling Jericho as the hooded figure. The other is the obvious Royal Rumble surprise entrance, which even has the backing of a WWE Hall of Famer.
WWE has allegedly also offered the 55-year-old a retirement storyline once he is back, and it feels like every road currently leads to his first WWE appearance since 2018.
