2025 MIAC VOLLEYBALL ATHLETES OF THE WEEK
MINNEAPOLIS — Augsburg University volleyball outside hitter Ava Carlson (SO, Cloquet, Minn./Cloquet HS) was named Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Volleyball Athlete of the Week on Offense, it was announced on Monday.
Carlson had 76 kills (4.22 per-set), hitting .296, with 51 digs (2.83 per-set) and 11 service aces (0.61 per-set) in a 4-1 week for Augsburg. On Wednesday, she had 17 kills, four service aces and eight digs in a three-set win over Bethany Lutheran. At the Augsburg Invitational on Friday, she had 16 kills and 12 digs in a four-set win over Wisconsin-La Crosse, and a career-high 19 kills, three aces and 17 digs for her 10th career kill-dig double-double and fourth of the season in a five-set loss to Minnesota Morris. On Saturday, she had 12 kills and eight digs in a three-set win over Lakeland, and 12 kills, three aces and six digs in a three-set win over Grinnell.
On the season, Carlson leads the MIAC in kills (101) and kills per-set (4.04).
Now 4-4 on the season, Augsburg is idle until Friday, Sept. 19, when it faces Knox (Ill., 5 p.m.) and Wisconsin-Superior (7 p.m.) at the Wisconsin-Superior Subway Stinger Classic.
