DE PERE, Wis. – Ava Carlson (SO, Cloquet, Minn./Cloquet HS) earned a spot on the All-Tournament Team at the St. Norbert College Invitational with her eighth career kill-dig double-double, leading the Augsburg University volleyball team in a four-set loss to Lawrence University on Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Carlson paced the Auggies on Saturday with 13 kills and 12 digs, adding a service ace. On the weekend, she had 44 kills (3.67 per-set) and 32 digs (2.67 per-set), recording two kill-dig double-doubles.

• The match was a close one throughout, with 22 ties and seven lead changes. Both teams hit sub-.100 on the match, but Augsburg committed 29 attack errors, compared to 18 for Lawrence. 

• For the second straight match, Jovial King (SO, Caledonia, Minn./Caledonia HS) claimed a career-best in assists, with 44 assists. She added 16 digs for her second straight assist-dig double-double and seventh of her career, while also contributing five kills, three service aces and two blocks (one solo).

• Taylor Hoehns (SR, Cedar Falls, Iowa/Dike-New Hartford HS) had 13 kills with three digs. Marley Mitchell (SO, Nevis, Minn./Nevis HS) had 12 kills, five digs and two blocks (one solo).

• Gwynn Gorter (SO, Inver Grove Heights, Minn./Simley HS) had eight kills, six digs and two blocks (one solo), and Elizabeth Oster (JR, Bemidji, Minn./Bemidji HS) had seven kills with seven digs and two blocks (one solo).

• Maggie Lile (JR, Spring Grove, Minn./Spring Grove HS) had 27 digs and six assists, New New (FY, Albert Lea, Minn./Albert Lead HS) had 12 digs, and Elise Uphoff (JR, Marshfield, Wis./Marshfield HS) had nine digs with four assists.

FOR THE FOES

• Margaret Hahnke had 13 kills and 16 digs to lead Lawrence, while Hazel Cook had 13 kills and a block.

• Ally Corrente had 37 assists and 13 digs.

• Augsburg opens the home portion of its schedule with a nonconference match against Bethany Lutheran College on Wednesday (9/3) at 7 p.m. at Si Melby Hall.
