Caleb Williams, Ben Johnson Thrill Bears Fans in Dominant Win vs. Eberflus, Cowboys
The Chicago Bears have finally given their fans what they’ve been waiting for.
Despite having head coach Matt Eberflus on their sideline, the Dallas Cowboys fell 31-14 to Caleb Williams and the Bears on Saturday.
First-year head coach Ben Johnson secured his first win at the helm as Chicago improved to 1-2 with the home victory. Williams, the second-year quarterback, delivered a standout performance, throwing for 298 yards and completing 19-of-28 passes with four touchdowns.
Williams connected with Luther Burden III, Rome Odunze, DJ Moore and Cole Kmet for scores. Burden III led all receivers with 101 yards on just three catches.
The Cowboys dropped to 1-2 as Dak Prescott completed 31-of-40 passes for 251 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions.
Meanwhile, Bears fans were fired up after Saturday’s dominant showing, celebrating their team’s first win of the season — and a convincing one over Dallas.
Chicago struck early, scoring two touchdowns in the first quarter to take a 14-3 lead, with the defense contributing a forced fumble. The Bears added a field goal and another touchdown before halftime, heading into the break with a 24-14 advantage.
Coming out of halftime, Chicago ate up nearly 10 minutes of clock with a 19-play drive capped by another touchdown, extending the lead to 31-14 entering the fourth quarter.
Prescott threw two interceptions in the final frame — including one in the end zone — followed by an interception by Joe Milton III who stepped in at QB, sealing the Cowboys’ fate and allowing the Bears to cruise to victory.
Chicago will travel to Las Vegas next Sunday to play the Raiders.
