India has filed a complaint with the ICC against Haris Rauf and Sahibzada Farhan. The complaint is about provocative gestures during the Asia Cup 2025 Super 4 match on September 21, 2025. Rauf mocked Indiaâ€s military by making a plane crash gesture and abusing Indian openers Shubman Gill and Abhishek Sharma. He made a “6-0†gesture while fielding near the boundary in front of Indian supporters. The gesture referenced Pakistanâ€s disputed claim of downing six Indian jets after Operation Sindoor.
Rauf also acted out a crashing plane motion to mock India, sparking outrage and boos from the crowd. Sahibzada Farhan celebrated his fifty with a gun-firing gesture using his bat. Indian fans had been chanting “Kohli, Kohli,†reminding him of Virat Kohliâ€s six off his bowling in 2022. Raufâ€s actions went viral on social media and drew criticism for being provocative.
The ICC has received BCCIâ€s e-mail complaint, and hearings may be held if the players deny the charges. Pakistanâ€s PCB has also filed a complaint against Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav. The PCB claims Suryaâ€s dedication of Indiaâ€s September 14 victory to the armed forces and Pahalgam terror attack victims was political. Such complaints must be filed within seven days of the remark, and the timeline of PCBâ€s filing is unclear. Both matters are expected to be taken up by ICC referee Richie Richardson.
India beat Bangladesh by 41 runs in the Asia Cup 2025 Super 4 match in Dubai. With this win, India reached four points and secured a place in the final. Sri Lanka, which lost both their Super 4 matches, are eliminated from the tournament. Pakistan and Bangladesh, both on two points, will face each other in a virtual knockout match for a chance to secure the second final spot. Abhishek Sharma scored 75 off 37 balls with a 77-run stand alongside Shubman Gill (29). Saif Hassan top-scored for Bangladesh with 69 runs from 51 balls. India remains unbeaten in the tournament and are one win away from their ninth Asia Cup title.
