WAVERLY, Iowa – The Augsburg University volleyball team dropped a three-game match to No. 25-ranked Carthage College in its first game at the Wartburg College Invitational on Friday evening.

FINAL SCORE: Carthage (Wis.) def. Augsburg 3-0 (25-21, 25-11, 25-22)
LOCATION: Levick Arena, Waverly, Iowa
RECORDS: Augsburg 6-6 overall, Carthage 10-2 overall

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Augsburg was limited to just .105 hitting (27 kills, 17 errors in 95 attempts) in the match, while Carthage connected on .255 (38-13-98). Carthage also converted 14 service aces in the match, compared to four for the Auggies.
• Taliah Triggs (SO, Moorhead, Minn./Moorhead HS) led the Auggies with 10 kills, hitting .304, while adding six digs.
• Elizabeth Oster (JR, Bemidji, Minn./Bemidji HS) had five kills, two block assists and two service aces, and Marley Mitchell (SO, Nevis, Minn./Nevis HS) had four kills with a block assist.
• Jovial King (SO, Caledonia, Minn./Caledonia HS) had 18 assists, five assists and three digs. Maggie Lile (JR, Spring Grove, Minn./Spring Grove HS) had 14 digs.

FOR THE FOES
• Carthage was paced by Kristina Manojlovic, who had 11 kills, seven digs and two solo blocks.
• Ava Dettwiler had six kills, 19 assists, eight digs and two blocks (one solo).

UP NEXT
• Augsburg has two matches at the Wartburg Invitational on Saturday (9/27), facing the host Knights at 9:30 a.m. and Cornell College (Iowa) at 2:30 p.m. in Waverly, Iowa.
