Switzerland captain Lia Walti has left Arsenal after seven years at the club and is set to join Italian side Juventus.
The 32-year-old had one year remaining on her contract in north London and said it was “one of the hardest decisions she has ever had to take”.
Walti signed from Turbine Potsdam in the summer of 2018 and made 183 appearances for the Gunners, winning the Women’s Super League title, two League Cups and the Champions League.
She was part of the squad that won last season’s Champions League, although she was an unused substitute in the final.
Walti has more than 100 international caps and captained Switzerland in their home European Championship this summer.
She is a key target for Juventus, who have until the Italian transfer deadline closes on 10 September to complete a deal.
