Dallas Mavericks star power forward/center Anthony Davis will miss at least two games after an MRI revealed a low grade left calf strain, the team announced Friday evening.

Davis will be re-evaluated after the Mavericks’ return from a road trip to Mexico City, where they will play the Detroit Pistons and the Houston Rockets.

Editor’s Picks

The 32-year-old sustained the injury in the first quarter of Wednesday’s game against the Indiana Pacers.

Davis, a 10-time All-Star, had been listed as probable before that game due to bilateral Achilles tendinopathy. He has averaged 20.8 points and 10.2 rebounds during Dallas’ 2-3 start.

“A.D. is day-to-day,” Kidd said before Friday’s practice at the Arena Ciudad de Mexico without getting into specifics. Davis traveled with the team and attended practice ahead of Saturday’s game against the Pistons.

Davis, a 10-time All-Star, has been plagued by injuries throughout his career. Last season, after been traded from Los Angeles Lakers for Luka Doncic, he got injured and missed 18 games and returned for the final eight games of the season as the Mavericks missed the playoffs.

“It is going to be day to day,” said Davis. “But I feel better that is for sure.”

Mavs center Dereck Lively II (knee sprain) will miss his third straight game against the Pistons. Center Daniel Gafford (ankle sprain) has been upgraded to questionable after missing the first five games.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
