Andrade’s WWE Exit Could Be Tied To Him Skipping The AAA Project

Andrade’s WWE exit wasn’t just about a disciplinary firing — there’s also the issue of him being left out of WWE’s growing partnership with AAA.

Dave Meltzer spoke about the situation on Wrestling Observer Radio and pointed out that WWE had wanted Andrade to be part of the AAA project, but he didn’t take part. While breaking down the details of Andrade being told to go home, Meltzer brought up the missed opportunity and how it stood out during the discussions around his release.

“I know of things, but I don’t think that this had to do with that. I know they wanted him in the AAA project. I’m not sure that he was — you know, he didn’t do it. So there’s that. So you can read into what you want, you know, I don’t… but I don’t know that that has anything to do with it or not.”

Meltzer didn’t say outright that the AAA situation was the reason Andrade was disciplined, but the timing was striking. WWE has been working closely with AAA on crossover events like Worlds Collide, and Andrade’s background made him the perfect choice for the project. With his Lucha Libre roots, Mexican heritage, and proven star power, he fit the role more than almost anyone else on the roster. Yet he wasn’t involved, and that absence was noticed.

Combined with the disciplinary issues that eventually had him sent home, Andrade missing the AAA project fueled speculation about what really pushed WWE to let him go.

Andrade’s final appearance came at SummerSlam, and after that, creative plans — including a tag match at Clash in Paris — were dropped once it became clear he was finished with the company.

Now that Andrade is officially out of WWE, fans are left to wonder what role the AAA situation truly played in the decision. Was it just bad timing, or was it a sign of growing frustration that WWE could no longer ignore?

Do you think Andrade’s absence from WWE’s AAA crossover was a turning point in his relationship with the company? Share your thoughts in the comments and let us know where you think he should go next.
