It seems controversy continues to follow Andrade El Idolo wherever he goes.
The last few months have been pretty crazy for Andrade. He was terminated from his WWE contract back in September. Weeks later, he made his shocking return to All Elite Wrestling on an episode of AEW Dynamite. However, due to a cease-and-desist from WWEâ€s legal team over terminology in his contract, he disappeared just as quickly.
El Idolo has seemingly kept a low profile in recent weeks as he works to find a way out of his one-year non-compete with WWE. But he is in the news once again for an incident that reportedly took place Friday night in Mexico.
According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, Andrade El Idolo walked out of The Crash XIV Aniversario event in Mexico last Friday.
Meltzer states that El Idolo was “unhappy†and left the show after signing some autographs. This wouldnâ€t be related to his WWE non-compete, as that only applies in the United States.
Andrade caught wind of this report this afternoon and responded on social media in hilarious fashion, tweeting out.
“Fui a la comida china al tal HK!!!†Andrade El Idolo said in a post.
His response roughly translates to he left to get Chinese food. So take that for what itâ€s worth.
Stay tuned to WrestleZone for more on Andradeâ€s contract status as it becomes available.
