A rather tense situation took place in AEW recently.
A recent PWI report claimed that Nixon Newell (fka Tegan Nox in WWE) and Miranda Alize had walked out ahead of an AEW taping. They were supposed to be wrestling Tay Melo and Anna Jay, but apparently, they had issues regarding how the match had been booked.
The former Tegan Nox was released from the Stamford-based promotion last year. She later wrestled in the independent circuit. Newell and Aliza debuted in AEW during a backstage segment, confronting Tay Melo and Anna Jay. Their first match had them facing Megan Bayne and Marina Shafir, which they lost. Apparently, this was a factor in them deciding to walk out of their scheduled match with Melo and Jay.
Miranda Alize later went on X/Twitter to hint at a much larger story behind the incident, stating that they had a lot to say. While Newell did not post anything, she retweeted several fan comments that talked about how the duo should not be involved in squash matches.
We have SOOOOOOOO much to say ……………

The match that Nixon Newell and Miranda Alize refused to do still went ahead, with them being replaced by Hyan and Maya World.
A new report by Fightful Select reiterated what PWI had stated, also mentioning how Newell and Alize were not okay with how the match was only 3 minutes. According to the report, Miranda was apparently also much more vocal about the situation than Nixon. Furthermore, the general consensus backstage was against Newell and Alize, with talents who knew them, believing that they should have handled the situation in a better manner. In addition, AEW officials were also shocked by the sudden twist.
What Nixon Newell and Miranda Alize plan to do in the future in AEW is a question that remains unanswered for the time being.
