Former marathon world record holder Steve Jones MBE had his statue unveiled in his home town of Ebbw Vale this week.
Jones famously won the Chicago Marathon back in 1984 in a world record time of 2:08.05, and won the London Marathon the following year.
“I had no idea at all what time I was running until I got about 100 yards from the finish line,” recalled Jones.
“It was surreal. Almost as surreal as looking at myself on a piece of stone.”
