A Fresh Season, Fresh Opportunities!

September 16, 2025 | Alan Lane

There’s something special about the start of a new table tennis season – fresh fixtures, new faces, and plenty of chances to get around a table and play the game we all love. This year feels particularly exciting, with lots of plans in the pipeline to bring table tennis to even more people in our communities.

The Ping Aspire Series has already set the tone, with the first event in Milton Keynes buzzing with energy and enthusiasm. It was fantastic to see so many people of different ages and abilities coming together for a day of fun and friendly competition. And the best bit? There are more Aspire events still to come in Hastings, Thanet, and Kintbury – each one another opportunity to pick up a bat, meet new people and get inspired.

Beyond the Aspire Series, there are some really exciting conversations happening. A potential new Ping Hub in Milton Keynes is on the table, which could become a welcoming home for anyone wanting to give the sport a go. And in Guildford, a collaboration with the Spectrum and local coaches is also taking shape, with the shared aim of opening doors for people who don’t normally get the chance to play.

What’s so encouraging about both of these initiatives is that they’re not just about a one-off hit – they’re about creating pathways into the game. Whether it’s someone picking up a bat for the very first time, or a casual player who wants to take the next step into a local club or league, these projects are about building bridges and welcoming more people into the table tennis family.

All in all, the season ahead promises plenty of rallies, plenty of laughter, and hopefully plenty of new faces discovering the joy of table tennis. Let’s make it a good one!
