Say his name and he appears. I believe in Joe Hendry.
Scottish professional wrestler Joe Hendry has officially signed a full-time contract with WWE following an amicable buyout of his remaining Total Nonstop Action Wrestling agreement. The announcement came through Fightful Select, confirming rumors that had circulated throughout the professional wrestling community in recent weeks.
Hendry’s transition from TNA to WWE represents the latest chapter in what has become an extraordinary rise to prominence for the 37-year-old performer, who first gained widespread recognition through viral social media moments and electrifying championship runs over the past eighteen months.

WWE officials, particularly NXT Executive Producer Shawn Michaels, have been actively advocating for Hendry’s promotion to full-time status following his numerous high-profile appearances across WWE programming. The Scottish star made his Royal Rumble debut in February 2025 as the fifteenth entrant before being eliminated by Roman Reigns.
Subsequently, he earned a shocking appearance at WrestleMania 41 Night 2, where he answered Randy Orton’s open challenge after Kevin Owens was forced to withdraw due to a legitimate neck injury requiring surgery. Although Hendry fell short against The Apex Predator, his performances on WWE’s biggest stages captured the attention of company leadership and fans alike.

Following his departure from TNA, Hendry is no longer scheduled to appear for the promotion and has closed the chapter on his 126-day reign as TNA World Champion, which he originally captured from Nic Nemeth at TNA Genesis on January 19, 2025.
During that championship tenure, Hendry successfully defended the title against notable contenders, including Matt Cardona, Jake Something, Ryan Nemeth, Hammerstone, Frankie Kazarian, and Ethan Page, before losing the belt to Trick Williams at NXT Battleground on May 25, 2025, making history as the first TNA World Champion to defend the title at a WWE event.
