Virat Kohli achieved his highest score in Test cricket against South Africa in Pune in 2019, a gigantic knock of 254* runs that included 33 fours and two sixes.
Kohliâ€s towering 254*, coupled with a century from Mayank Agarwal and half-centuries from Jadeja, Pujara, and Rahane, pushed Indiaâ€s first innings total to over 600. India won by an innings and 137 runs.

Virender Sehwag holds the record for the highest Test score by an Indian batsman against South Africa in Test cricket with his famous knock of 319 in Chennai in 2008.
In reply to South Africaâ€s first innings total of 540, Sehwag smashed 319 runs off only 304 balls, including 42 fours and five sixes, as India finished on 627. The match ended in a draw.
