AEW’s Will Ospreay Appears to Troll WWE Wrestlepalooza in Photo, ‘What a S–t Name’

Injured AEW star Will Ospreay seemingly took a dig at WWE’s Wrestlepalooza premium live event on Friday.

In a post on his Instagram Stories, Ospreay shared a photo of Ben & Jerry’s Scoop-apalooza ice cream, and included the caption, “What a s–t name.”

Ospreay’s post came ahead of a huge day in professional wrestling on Saturday with both AEW and WWE putting on major events.

It starts with AEW All Out from Toronto at 3 p.m. ET, followed by WWE Wrestlepalooza in Indianapolis at 7 p.m. ET.

Wrestlepalooza is a historic PLE for WWE, as it marks the start of the company’s partnership with ESPN. Wrestlepalooza will be the first WWE PLE to ever stream live on the ESPN Unlimited direct-to-consumer platform.

WWE is kicking off Wrestlepalooza in a big way, as Brock Lesnar and John Cena are set to clash in the opener. It will be Lesnar’s first match in over two years, and one of the final matches of Cena’s illustrious career, as he is set to retire in December.

In the event that All Out lasts longer than four hours, Lesnar vs. Cena is a major draw that could convince wrestling fans to switch over from All Out to Wrestlepalooza.

While the All Out card will feature several big matches, including Adam Copeland and Christian Cage against FTR, AEW will be without one of its top performers in Ospreay.

After winning in the main event of Forbidden Door last month, Ospreay was written off AEW programming via an attack at the hands of The Death Riders.

Prior to that show, Ospreay told SI.com’s Zack Heydorn that he was suffering from herniated discs pushing against his spinal cord, which would require surgery.

On Thursday, Ospreay posted on X that his “surgery was a success,” adding, “The road will be long, but it’ll be worth it to see you all again.”

Perhaps Ospreay will enjoy some Scoop-apalooza while watching All Out from home on Saturday, although his comments suggest Wrestlepalooza may not be part of his viewing schedule.
