Tom Brady Jokes About NFL Return with Rob Gronkowski for 1 More Year After Viral Video

Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski still got it.

The NFL legends turned broadcasters were on hand for Fox’s pregame show ahead of Sunday’s Super Bowl rematch between the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles and connected on quite the pass over a large group of onlookers.

Brady shared the clip with a joke about playing one more year:

It was clearly a joke, but the 48-year-old former quarterback uncorked quite the spiral with his throw.

He also isn’t that far removed from leading the NFL in passing yards (5,316) and passing touchdowns (43) during his age-44 season in 2021. He followed that up in his age-45 season by throwing for 4,694 yards and 25 touchdowns.

The seven-time Super Bowl champion is widely considered the greatest of all-time for a number of reasons, but his longevity and durability certainly stood out during his career. It really wouldn’t be that surprising if Brady could go out there for another game if he absolutely needed to even at age 48.

It was fitting he threw the pass to Gronkowski too, since they will forever be connected together from their playing days.

Gronkowski was teammates with Brady for four of his Super Bowl titles, three of which came on the New England Patriots. The last one came with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers during the 2020 season.

The dominant tight end played just one more year after winning that last Lombardi Trophy. That final season in 2021 was his age-32 season, which stood in stark contrast to Brady playing into his mid-40s.

But they are teammates once again with Fox with Brady working as an in-game commentator and Gronkowski as an in-studio analyst. 

Those roles allowed them to turn back the clock Sunday, and they delivered with another completion.
