A new WWE Women’s World Champion has been crowned in an incredible match at WWE Wrestlepalooza.
During Saturday’s match, it was Stephanie Vaquer and IYO SKY battling it out over the vacant title. In what might’ve been the best match of the entire night, the two superstars went all out in their efforts to win. In the end, though, it was finally Vaquer’s time to shine, and she came out on top.
The ending was incredibly chaotic, and saw Vaquer and SKY go back and forth delivering some big moves to one another. SKY hit Vaquer in the corner with a double knee drop. Vaquer followed it up by avoiding a Moonsault and letting SKY hit the floor. After composing herself for a moment, Vaquer then got up and hit a huge Spiral Tap for the win.
After the match, both stars showed each other some love after a hard-fought bout.
The win is Vaquer’s first title as a WWE star. Previously, she was incredibly decorated in NXT. She held both the NXT Women’s Championship and NXT Women’s North American Championship. Now, though, she’ll look to make her mark as WWE Women’s World Champion. The title was previously held by Naomi, who was forced to relinquish the title when she went on maternity leave.
