Matt Riddle Loses Upcoming Booking Due To Recent Comments About Sexual Assault

Matt Riddle had an upcoming appearance cancelled due to his recent remarks about sexual assault and domestic violence.

This week, Matt Riddle made headlines after he was accused of no-showing and ripping off a charity wrestling event. Riddle defended himself and claimed he was innocent of any wrongdoing. This was despite the promotion’s claims that Riddle knew the details of their agreement months in advance.

One of Riddle’s responses came in the form of a post on Twitter/X. There, he called people who believed the allegations against him “dumb f*cking cunts.” Riddle continued, saying it was just like when people believed “that ‘me too’ bullsh*t and all the other f*cking garbage.” Riddle was referring to Candy Cartwright’s (Samantha Tavel) 2020 accusations that he sexually assaulted her. The former WWE star claimed they were in a consensual relationship (and claimed his ex-wife knew about it). Tavel brought a lawsuit against Riddle, but it was ultimately dropped.

SiouxperCon announced that they cancelled Riddle’s appearance due to his “public statements regarding the topics of SA and DV.” The full statement is below:

“In light of recent public statements made by Matt Riddle regarding the topics of SA and DV, SiouxperCon has made the decision to cancel his appearance at this year’s convention. The statements that were made in no way represent our organization or event, and are not aligned with the mission, vision, and values of our organization.

Fans who have purchased photo ops in advance for Matt Riddle will be automatically refunded this week to their original form of payment.

SiouxperCon has always strived to be a safe and inclusive space and event for all to feel welcome, including those that have been affected by SA and DV. This is why we, along with New Sound Wrestling, will be donating 10% of the proceeds from all SiouxperMania tickets sold to The Compass Center to support the work they do in our community for survivors and victims.”

Siouxpercon takes place on September 19-21, 2025, at the Sioux Falls Convention Center.
